About this app

Tennis in Australia isnā€™t like tennis anywhere else in the world.

In January, Melbourne Park vibrates in waves of breathless excitement as the music pumps, the sun shines and the drinks flow. This is a place where the victories are harder fought, rallies more punishing and post-match interviews a little more candid. The Australian Open just hits different.

The official app for the Australian Open 2024 allows you to follow all the action in ways you wonā€™t find anywhere else.

Want to keep across the best points from each match? Our immersive Stories highlights have got you covered.

Maybe youā€™re after a full press conference from your favourite player? Theyā€™re all here.

What about the dayā€™s top highlights? Head to our Videos section for all the action on and off the court.

Just checking a score? The latest scores, draws and schedules are what we do.

You can also customise the app, so you get to experience the AO your way.

Simply set your favourite players, and weā€™ll customise the app, so you get your favourite players' real-time scores, draws and match highlight videos front and center. Youā€™ll also get notifications when your favourite playersā€™ matches are about to start, so you never have to miss a point.

If youā€™re lucky enough to be joining us at Melbourne Park, the ā€œVisitā€ section of the app has got you covered with:
ā€¢ Easy access to your tickets
ā€¢ Personalised itinerary planner
ā€¢ An interactive map displaying the best route and journey time to every part of the AO precinct.
ā€¢ All the info you need about what is happening around the precinct, including world-class restaurants, bars and shopping

The Australian Open 2024 hits different.

In order to use our interactive precinct map and receive special offers when attending the event, you need to enable location services.

Edit 2024: even better now, also the visit map is great. Edit 2022: notable improvements have been made since original review. Does what is required for stay at home viewers. Functionally probably one of my least favourite Open apps I've ever used. Aesthetically looks pretty good. The radio component drops in and out sometimes and you can't pause/stop it when not in the specific page in the app. The latest update seems to have stopped majority of crashes which is great but it is still sluggish.

Thanks for your feedback Fabian. We are still working to resolve the performance issues. In the meantime, if you need live scores and draws we suggest using AO Scores: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ao.scores&hl=en

edit: new version of the app is much better than years past. --This app performs poorly.. slow and unresponsive. takes 5-10 seconds to respond to any input and when you finally get to something you want like a highlight video, you can't even view it full screen.

The app is average at best. This year, the scores section reduces the amount of letters in a players name as the match gets longer. Eventually you end up with just flags and a scoreline. You have no idea who is playing in the match which is a very important detail. Not sure who set this up this way but they need to go back to design school because it is not functional!
