Dictionary Moore - French - English
To write a dictionary of a language is "to put the culture of a people in alphabetical order". Of course we are aware that this dictionary only scratches the surface of this beautiful language and reveals only a small part of its richness and the culture of the Mossi.

This dictionary allows you to discover the Mooré language. By clicking on the “search” button (the small magnifying glass at the top right), a window opens and you can type words in Mooré, French or English. Type "search" and a new window will display the results. Select the word you want to consult closely, and a new window will open on your screen.

This dictionary contains more than 11,513 Mooré words and expressions translated into French and English, often illuminated by illustrative sentences. (Sometimes we were able to place an image to illustrate the word, in fact there are more than 4,300 photos / images in this dictionary). In general, we have retained the central dialect of the Ouagadougou region as the reference dialect of Mooré. There are cases where we have added dialect variants, but we could not account for all variants. Obviously, Mooré still has many words that are not included in this dictionary.
This dictionary can be useful for several purposes:
It can help the Mossi to write their mother tongue.
It will serve teachers and literacy workers as a reference lexicon.
This dictionary can help you discover the Moaaga language and culture.
There is also an .exe version of this dictionary that you can install on your computer.

There, you will also have 9,500 audio files; so when you click on the speaker icon next to the entry's featured word, the word will be spoken in audio, which especially helps people whose first language is not Mooré.

This same dictionary with audio files can be consulted online at the following website:
