About this app

Afya Stat is an opensource application designed for Kenya’s health program, it is designed for convenient delivery of integrated preventive and treatment services to communities on the go. Afya Stat is built on the Community Health Toolkit (CHT) application. This version of Afya App has features for provision of HIV Testing Services (HTS) and Key Population services community and facility-based services. New features will be added over time.

a. HTS ‘eligibility Screening’
b. HIV testing services in line with Kenya Ministry of Health guidelines
c. Index testing (contact listing, IPV screening, tracing)
d. Referral and linkage for ART enrollment

3. Key Population (KP) services
a. Key Population community services (Contact with peers, Commodity distribution)
b. Performance tracking, tracking of LTFU peers
c. Key Population Peer navigation (PrEP Verification of HIV treatment verification for KPs)

4. Data exchange
a. Afya App is designed as a companion of Kenya EMR, that supports bi-directional exchange of registration and service delivery data with KenyaEMR. KenyaEMR is distribution of OpenMRS used in extensively in Kenya.

6. Usability
a. Afya App can be used without internet connectivity, however exchange of data with KenyaEMR instances of both applications to be within the same network offline
b. The application is adaptable to different screen sizes and can be accessed via browser.
c. Supports Android version 4.4 and above.

7. Security
a. User authentication with role-based access for facility-based providers, supervisors and community workers. Users can be assigned different roles per classification.
