About this game

The War of Three Brothers, which took place ten years ago, changed the unknown fate of Rhivenia. The Sword chose Prince Charles to rule; however, his brothers dared to go against its choice. Prince Charles gained victory over his brothers, who were the victims of their greed. Executing all the traitors, he strengthened his reign and became the rightful king of three kingdoms. He's been living a peaceful life with his two wives and four children until an unexpected enemy shows up.

You play as one of the heirs, who may be chosen by the Sword once King Charles dies. Are you worthy of the throne? Or do your siblings deserve it more than you do? What kind of heir will you be?

"The Sword of Rhivenia" is a 750,000 word interactive medieval fantasy novel by Ayan Mammadli, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

• Play as prince or princess.
• Customize your appearance and personality.
• Build friendships and make enemies.
• Be chosen by the Sword or stay as prince/princess.
• Betray your kingdom or be loyal.
• Get married and start a family.

Updated: Worth buying. Good game. Well written, great characters, good plot and emotional moments. Clearly a sequel is intended. It is long with some great moments, especially one shocking bettayal. Good replayability but it does feel as if you are punished if not crowned and you lose all agency. Skills/traits rarely matter. It also ends abruptly after working up to what seems to be a climax. Romance is meh unless you follow one obvious option though it lays groundwork for something big later.

I found it to be pretty interesting and well written story overall. Now i have to say the game is pretty linear and most your stats don't seem to really matter except leadership. With that being said i really did like it but it suffers without a part 2. Oh also the game does have a focus a bit on romance it feels kinda brief for except like for two of the options but i don't think it is actually is short just feels that way.

This feels like a long prologue to a longer story. A lot of the stats don't matter, and the relationships aren't really fleshed out. It also feels like you have to purposefully make bad choices to get to one of the paths where you don't become king/queen since the leadership requirement is >65 and by that point, you could easily have 90 (and finish the game with over 100).
