Pirates of Donkey Island is a funny, 79,000 word interactive swashbuckling novel by Gilbert Gallo, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
A gorilla gentleman, an undead rocker, a fast-aging Voodoo crone, and a ridiculous spokesman. These will be your only companions in the most incredible journey of your life. Every member has a peculiar story, and their experiences/interactions will help you determine your final, authentic self.
After dozens of insult-sword fighting duels, grog contests, and rigged wheels of fortunes, you will eventually look at life from an entirely different perspective.
With your crew's help, you'll discover the truth about your hated pirate grandfather. Will you then embrace your cursed condition or fight against your doom?
• Decide your main character's body and orientation during the game. Will you end up being male, female, or non-binary? Gay, straight, or asexual? It's up to you to decide.

I really liked this game. It's a fun read, and my choices had a decent impact on the story. I played the free chapters several times and enjoyed them so much that I bought the full game. The Monkey Island nostalgia was awesome. There were grammatical errors, and some achievements refused to trigger (death mode, romance completion, etc.). Also, at times choices were grayed out for no clear reason (forced to cure my LI, etc.). However, it's well worth the price, and I'll play it many more times.

This story wastes no time jumping into the narrative. You find yourself in a body that is not your own and have to call off a wedding to deal with being stuck in your Grandfather's body. While there were some misspellings here and there, the story itself has a decent plot. I felt that sometimes the story was predictable: let's just say the narrative can be cliche at times. I also found the replayability and romance options to be limited. It's a decent read even if it's a bit short.

If you loved monkey island you HAVE to play this! Very worth the small price to continue playing, I promise the ending is worth it!! I am going to replay multiple times to see every possible ending! Brought back great memories... I kinda feel emotional lol but I'm really happy with this app!
