9 years ago, the Government of the world industrial leader, Germany, initiated a targeted program for the digitization of industry. 26 billion devices would be connected to the Internet in 2020 — several times larger than the population. In smart factories, machines will understand their environment and will be able to communicate among themselves, as well as with the business systems of suppliers and consumers. Production equipment, receiving information about the changed customer requirements, will be able to make adjustments to the process itself. As a result, the production systems will become capable of self-optimization and self-configuration, the equipment will perform self-diagnostics.
The blank will be able to inform the machine exactly which operations are necessary for its processing and which tool to choose, and the transport system - along which route it should be transferred for the subsequent operation. Parts of the units will be able to signal their wear and transfer orders via the Internet to manufacturers of spare parts and alert service personnel of planned repairs.
