Been using this as my go-to app for sketching ideas for years. Simple and unintimating it's really helpful for getting ideas down to transcribe into a more powerful daw later. Features swing / shuffle, a simple sample editor, and allegedly the ability to load your own samples..! I've never gotten the last part to work, but I mainly sketch with this so I don't care. If you're trying to make more "full" tracks on-the-go try out this guy's other app, Sunvox. I haven't used it, but it seems legit.

This is almost the perfect quick music track making app. It's fun to musically doodle and then the next thing you notice is that you've built a complete tune without trying! Bravo good sir! The one thing that I think it's missing is the ability to see what note each pixi(?) was placed on, so you can see the text 'C4' or 'E#6'. Btw, this app is a dream to work on my Galaxy Fold2 - full screen musical goodness!

Some find simplicity to be limiting. I find this to be an inspiration machine. SunVox is everything you could want, but it is intimidating. This is comparable to drawing thumbnails to plan a painting. Brainstorming in the raw. An intermediate between beatboxing into a voice recorder and using a full studio. It's good enough that I wish I bought the Virtual ANS while it was on sale. It's not something I would get much use from, but I have endless confidence in this developer.
