About this app

Find your stuff in seconds and spend more time on the things that matter to you.

musegear finder – Germany’s #1 key tracker.

Perfect privacy. No subscription. No account needed. It’s set-and-forget. And find.

Making your life easier
musegear finder is key-chainable and simply attached to any surface using the included adhesive pad. The flat finder is thin enough to slide in your wallet without adding bulk. finders are available in different versions and will hang on to your keys, wallet, remote, and anything else you don’t want to lose. It takes the hassle out of finding the things you need and gives you more time to do the things that you want.

Our promise
* Your freedom is important to us. That’s why we say that your data is just that. Yours. There are no subscriptions and you don’t even need an account. It’s literally set-and-forget. And find.
* Privacy is built right in. musegear finder has been designed to collect no information on you whatsoever.
* Our app is a joy to use and look at. We’ve tested it inside out and upside down to create the best user experience for everyone, from tech-savvy teens to the young at heart.
* Fairness is our priority and we want you to be happy. It’s extremely unlikely, but if you do hit a snag, our warranty has you covered for a full two years and our support folks will sort you out in no time.
* A dead battery is not the end of your finder. Plus, it ships with a battery already inside that will last for up to 12 months (depending on your model and individual usage).

Your benefits
Make your things ring! Simply attach finder to an item, launch the app, tap ‘Alarm’ and follow the beep. There’s no hiding under the couch or anywhere else as long as your finder is within 90 m (195 ft) of your phone. Or use the geofencing feature to be notified the moment your finder disconnects from your phone. Is your finder out of range? Maybe you left it in the office? Not a problem! The app remembers where and when it was last connected. Just use the map to trace your way back and make it ring. So the next time you don’t know where to look, you know exactly where to look.
finder is designed to be two things more than anything: Tiny. And loud. An up to 96 dB beep means not even walls will block it out (depending on model).

The free app is available for iOS (v11 or up) and Android (v5 or up) through the App Store and Play Store respectively. You can use it in English, French, German and Italian. If you ever run into a glitch, our support team speaks English, German, and some French. But we’ll do our best to understand you in any language. Promise!

In general, it works quite well. There are, however, two things that bother me: 1.) I tested the musegear finder with a folding smartphone cover, that protects it from bottom and top. It turned out, that the GPS signal is significantly reduced by the the cover. In conjunction with other environmental influences the GPS signal can be pretty bad. When the GPS signal is bad, Google maps shows a light blue circle of uncertainty of your current location. In my case this can be >700 meters in diameter. Unfortunately, the information of the last known gps signal strength (or circle of uncertainty) is not visible in the map displayed in the musefinder app. Instead, it seems to show a random position within this huge area. It would be much better to show the same kind of area circle where the last connection to the musefinder device was connected. This would be really helpful, if the gps signal was weak when the connection to the device was lost. 2.) When the connection to the musefinder device is disconnected, the google map shows up and is located right under the android buttons triangle (back), circle and square at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunatly, the map (at least in my case) and these buttons have almost the same colour, so the buttons are not visually not distinguishable from the map. Maybe android exposes some API that would allow to outline these buttons so it is more easy to see them. Apart from that, the app pretty much does what I expected.

Needs improvements like option to ring when Finder reappears. Useful e.g. when waiting for your luggage at the airport's conveyer belt.

This app drains 11% of my phone (Galaxy S10) battery overnight with constant background activity. This is too much. Are there settings, apart from sleep mode, to improve this?
