Islamabad is a city of 1,014,825 inhabitants of Pakistan, capital of the state since 1967 and the capital of the territory of the capital.
It houses 20 universities, including Quaid-i-Azam University, founded in 1967, the Pakistani Institute for Engineering and Applied Sciences, Allama Iqbal University, COMSATS University and the National University of Sciences and technology of Pakistan. It is also considered among the safest cities in the country thanks to its equipment of around 1900 CCTV cameras.
