About this app

Denver is a city in the United States of America, the capital and main city of the federal state of Colorado. It is known as the Mile-High City, because its official altitude above sea level, measured on the fifteenth step of the Colorado State Capitol, is 1 609 meters (5 280 feet), or one mile. A row of seats in the stands of Coors Field, where the Colorado Rockies baseball team plays, is painted purple (one of the team's colors), to indicate that that spot has an elevation of one mile above sea level. Also, the stadium where the Denver Broncos play in the NFL is popularly called Mile High. At the Denver International Airport the measured altitude is, however, 1 655 meters.
Historically it has also been known as the Queen City of the Plains, due to its importance in the agricultural economy of the surrounding regions.
In 2016 Denver was named the best city to live in the United States by "U.S. News & World Report".
