I probably use Grainstorm everyday. It is one of the most sophisticated but truly enjoyable experiences I've had making music on Android. The interface is easy to navigate and midi implementation is excellent. There is a very large learning curve which, even after years, I'm still climbing. That said, I cannot rate this app highly enough. It is a truly remarkable achievement and worth your time and $. Grainstorm is a versatile tool, a creative playland and only limited by your own curiosity.

Great app, provide ways to create and mangle sounds in huge depth. The paid version is worth it, but the free version is huge too, developer is still maintaining the app. It is limited in many ways, quite cryptic at first, and the manual could be better, but if this doesn't throw you off this is such an essential experimentation tool There are frequent glitches when recording audio, and it lacks is actual BPM settings and m4a compatibility

This app is an unpolished gem. Lots of great ideas and easy to get good sounds out of. Several of its time seek controls (speed + grain position) lead to very metallic sounds, indicating DSP issues. The rotary controls are unintuitive, not following the de facto standard most music software has landed on for vertical scrubbing. Output gain is too easy to slam. Aside from several issues like this it's one of the better granular synths available here, and definitely worth a try.
