About Titanic, luxury and tragedy

In 1912 the Titanic, once the largest and most luxurious passenger ship in the world, set sail from the English shores for New York. A few days later, the ship sank after colliding with an icerberg.

For many years historians, treasure hunters, oceanographers and businessmen have searched for the wreck. And it was in 1985 when the Titanic was located at the bottom of the sea, 4 kilometers deep and about 800 kilometers off the coast of Canada.

Discover the theories that have been created around the wreck of the largest and most luxurious British ocean liner of its time. The Titanic cost 1,522 lives despite being deemed unsinkable.

Why did the Titanic split in two?
The Titanic snapped in two because the bow of the ship, where she hit the iceberg, sinks first. What follows is that the stern floats and the ship tilts with the stern in the air, but the ship's steel frame is not designed to withstand that kind of pull, and the metal simply breaks, splitting the Titanic in two.

The Titanic is probably the most famous ship in history. It is also the archetype of disaster. A challenge to destiny. Create a ship larger than imagination allowed, the indestructible ship, the one that could not sink. But the collision with the iceberg showed otherwise.

Discover the story of the sinking of the ocean liner, an accident that has been made into movies and literature on countless occasions, but which still holds secrets after more than a century has passed.
Curiosities such as that the ship's band played music until the end to try to calm the passengers. They have been called heroes, and they apparently played music for more than two hours after hitting the iceberg.

Or like the story of one of her survivors known as the woman of the three shipwrecks. She survived the sinking of the Titanic, also the collision of the Olympic (Titanic's twin brother) and later survived the sinking of another ship: the Britannic.
