The editing team of the new version of the "Hymn" of the Hua'an Federation of Seventh-day Adventists began planning and revising the "Hymn" in 2006 and completed it this year. Although the whole process is long and difficult, each committee member has a specialized role and it is difficult to take care of it all. But we are deeply honored to have this opportunity to participate in the editing, and we are deeply grateful for God’s grace!

About fifty years after the release of the existing "Hymn", this very meaningful new version of "Hymn" was successfully completed, just to glorify and praise God. We hope that these hymns will become beautiful and more meaningful because of God, and we deeply hope that God will greatly use this hymn collection to let more people know Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, and accept Him as their personal savior.

After prayer and discussion, the editing team of the new version of "Hymns" has formulated four groups of work directions: music, theology, translation and Chinese (text) group, and has sincerely invited the elites and editing team members at home and abroad of our association to work together to complete this arduous task mission.

Music group:
• Screen the songs in the original "Hymn" and delete about 140 songs that are rarely sung in the original "Hymn"; review the remaining hymns and adjust some key signatures, hoping that their pitch can be popularized by the public.
• Referring to a variety of different hymns and feedback from brothers and sisters from all walks of life, we provide possible hymns and tunes and submit them to the editing team for final editing and selection, hoping to improve the quality of church hymns.
• Adjust the number of verses of some hymns so that they have the same number of verses as our English hymns to meet the needs of overseas Chinese churches and Chinese-English bilingual churches.
• Added many new praise and worship songs that are familiar and suitable for various gatherings.
• In the "Hymn" score, add the simplified musical notation commonly used by Chinese people and an index of the first sentence of the simplified musical notation.
• Conduct multiple reviews and proofreading of staffs and simplified musical notations.

Translation team:
• More than 100 hymns were selected from our English "Hymn" and translated by eight people at home and abroad who are excellent in Chinese, English and pronunciation. The principle of translation must be to express the meaning correctly and to achieve perfect coordination between the lyrics and the song, hoping to encourage brothers and sisters to love praising the eternal true God through music and live in victory.
• Strive to make the translated lyrics rhyme and keep the original text smooth and natural.
• Added hymn lyrics to make the Chinese and English versions of "Hymn" have the same number of verses.

Chinese (text) group:
• Four Chinese teachers from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan reviewed and reviewed the lyrics of each poem to ensure they were smooth and correct.
• Modify vocabulary and rhyme to make it smoother.
• Try to retain the original content of the poems, and modify the words that are too difficult to understand and those that are less used today.
