About Soortenspotter
Soortenspotter lets you see at a glance what nature lives around you. The app bundles current observations from iNaturalist and Observation.org and displays them clearly around your location — in a clear list and on a map with color-coded markers.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH IT?
• See observations around your current GPS position, or search by any place name or address.
• Place a pin on the map to search exactly there.
• Filter by species group: birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, insects, fish, plants, and mushrooms — each with its own color.
• Choose your search radius (500 m to 25 km) and period (today to the past year, or always).
• Search live by species name, Dutch, or scientific.
• View the details, photo, validation status, and original source for each observation.

Soortenspotter combines iNaturalist and Observation.org and intelligently searches the entire area around your search point, so that you also receive observations from adjacent nature reserves.
PRIVACY FIRST
No account, no tracking, no advertisements. Your location is used only to execute the search and is not stored anywhere by Soortenspotter or shared with marketing parties.
