About Tokyo Station NAVI（Navigation Service)

We have started the Tokyo Station Navi.

In the summer of 2020, Tetsudo Kaikan Co. Ltd. will open Gransta Tokyo, the largest commercial area in Ekinaka (area inside the station) in the JR East area. In addition, Tokyo Station Navi will be released. Our goal is to improve the convenience of Ekinaka and Ekisoto (the areas inside and outside the station) at Tokyo Station, which is becoming even more attractive.

[Main Service Offerings]
(1) You can search through the vast collection of store information (restaurants, bento shops, souvenirs, shopping, services, etc.) *1 at Tokyo Station. If you use the app inside Tokyo Station, then you will be able to view the information ordered from the nearest business to your location, and the app will suggest a route to the desired store.

(2) You can search for information on a huge number of facilities inside Tokyo Station (toilets, coin lockers, ticket offices, ticket gates, rest areas, waiting areas, bus and taxi stops, places to visit in Tokyo Station, etc.). If you use the app inside Tokyo Station, it will suggest a route to the desired facility or area.

(3) You can view the route to your destination (restaurant, etc.) by checking the departure point (waiting area, ticket gate, etc.) inside Tokyo Station using the app in advance.

(4) When using the app inside Tokyo Station, you will see your location on the map (there may be an error depending on the environment).
The indoor positioning system*2 can be used to guide you to your destination even though a GPS signal is not available.

(5) This application lets you view wheelchair accessible routes within Tokyo Station.
The map shows wheelchair accessible routes using elevators and ramps to assist people in wheelchairs, those walking with a stroller, or those carrying suitcases in the station. The screen can be switched to the original route with one tap.

(6) You can view floor maps in a hierarchical overview of Tokyo Station.
You can see the start point and the ups and downs or correlation of floors near your destination.

(7) People frequently ask about the location of places outside the station. This application guides you to the nearest exit of Tokyo Station to your destination and links to Google Maps.

(8) The other services listed below will be added one after another from the summer.
(Some features will be implemented in a future update)
・ You will be able to obtain real-time train journey information to and from Tokyo Station to assist you in spending time more effectively. (Linked to the JR East Japan application)
・ Tokyo Station Navi provides the AR navigator feature (β version) that displays directions superimposed on the screen view captured by the lens when you hold up your smartphone inside Tokyo Station.
・ You can find real-time congestion information about shops and restrooms, and the availability of coin lockers.
・ Tokyo Station Navi is linked to the EC site. With this feature, you can choose a store in Tokyo Station to book a bento in advance for immediate pickup when you get there.
・ What’s new, event information, and magazines on Tokyo Station will be distributed through a variety of menus options.
・ We are looking to enhance our guidance service with AI technology
