About HorseAnalytics Health

With the HorseAnalytics Health app you can keep an overview over the grazing times and the fructan risk for your horse.
When downloading the app you receive the free basic version but you can also choose the in-app premium version for a fee. In the basic version you’ll only receive the fructan risk at your current location.

The premium version has the following exclusive features:

* The fructan traffic light shows the risk at the set location of your horse.
* You can easily change the location.
* The app shows the weather forecast and the fructan risk of the next twelve hours, as well as the next five days.
* Take a look at the week’s forecast to plan the pasture time of your horse.
* Add up to five horses in the app (Pro) and manage their pasture times.
* The app shows important weather data like humidity, moisture of the soil and the temperature at night
* Add the pasture time of the previous day.
* Track the grazing of the whole week. How long was my horse on the pasture? How high was the risk? The app will show you a clear indicator.

How does the app help?

The app shows you the fructan risk at your horse’s location. Moreover, you can add the pasture times of your horse to minimize dangerous exposure. For calculating the risk we are using the latest scientific findings about fructan in grass. The weather conditions of the last days (especially precipitation), the average temperature of the previous night and the forecast are used to indicate the risk. Individual factors like the length of the grass or the type have to be considered.
Why is fructan dangerous for a horse?
As fructan is quickly metabolised in the horse’s intestine the intestinal flora is easily changed. That’s why the intake of fructan in large amounts, can release endogenous toxins. These can for example cause laminitis. Especially for horses with EMS, cushing or laminitis it’s quite important to control pasture time. Keep in mind that any horse will greatly benefit from keeping the pasture time in mind, as fructan affects them all.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

What is the HorseAnalytics Health app?

The HorseAnalytics Health app helps you keep track of your horse's grazing times and the fructan risk.

What are the features of the premium version of the app?

The premium version of the app includes features such as the fructan traffic light for your horse's location, the ability to change locations, weather forecast and fructan risk for the next twelve hours and next five days, weekly forecast for pasture planning, the option to add up to five horses and manage their pasture times, important weather data, adding pasture time from the previous day, and tracking grazing for the whole week with a clear indicator.

How does the app help?

The app helps by showing the fructan risk at your horse's location and allowing you to add pasture times to minimize dangerous exposure. It uses the latest scientific findings about fructan in grass, as well as weather conditions and individual factors, to calculate the risk.

Why is fructan dangerous for a horse?

Fructan can be dangerous for horses as it is quickly metabolized in their intestines and can change their intestinal flora. Consuming large amounts of fructan can release endogenous toxins, leading to conditions such as laminitis. Monitoring pasture time is especially important for horses with EMS, cushing, or laminitis, but all horses can benefit from considering fructan levels.
