Wharenui Harikoa he poro whakahakoko, Ko Uenuku tāwhana ki te Rangi.
Wharenui Harikoa is a prism of tūpuna-inspired light that shines across the sky like a rainbow.
Transforming intergenerational trauma into deeply felt joy one crochet loop at a time.
In 2018, Lissy and Rudi’s tupuna gifted them with the vision to create Wharenui Harikoa as an opportunity to create an authentic connection to joy, which is the foundation of this project as a vehicle for them to connect wairua (spirit) to each other and to their communities.
The intention is for Wharenui Harikoa to transcend all barriers and to connect with and embrace people from all walks of life. The realisation of this vision has been the focus of their lives since May 2019 when Lissy and Rudi were able to commit their time on a full-time basis. Lissy and Rudi are currently working towards having the wharenui completed and unveiled during Matariki 2023. The venue will be announced on our social media and this website, so keep posted!
