UTU’s new app is the easiest way to maximise your VAT Refunds when shopping across Europe. With today’s refund process, you receive some ~55-60% of your tax refund. Add operator handling fees and you end up getting a lot less than what’s rightfully yours – we don’t think that’s fair. UTU Tax Free is designed with shoppers in mind, focussed on delivering the maximum tax refund you can possibly receive through a mobile experience.

When you shop Tax Free, UTU’s innovative and flexible solutions give the best possible refund on every purchase across 19 countries.:

• UTU PLUS: Up to 5% extra cash on all your tax-free shopping purchases across 19 countries in the EU. Simply write your 16-digit UTU Plus Virtual Card number in the credit card refund field of your Tax Free form. We’ll notify you through your UTU app when you’ll receive your refund and 5% extra cash.

• UTU DIRECT: From anywhere in Italy, bring your Tax Free forms to a UTU Service Counter in Milan, Rome, Florence and Venice (location(s) shown in-app) and UTU will give you 85% of your VAT Refund vs the ~55-60% you receive today. No more queuing up at different Tax Refund operators at the Airport; just head straight to Customs for validation.

• UTU 100% REFUND: Shop at any UTU Partner store and receive 100% REFUND as an eVoucher to use instantly in-store.
