Game progress and aim
------------------------------------
The player has the task to find and scan all displayed NFC tags. He has to be careful to move within the shields (Wi-Fi). If the strongest shield falls below 60%, the player continuously lose Health until he dies.
If the player scans all the NFC tags without dying, the game is won and gets evaluated.
Used technologies
------------------------------------
“NFC (Near field communication)”
The use of NFC tags is the main component of "Radiation Runner". These few euro cent cheap data stores are used as control points that can be written by the player.
“WLAN (Wireless local area network)”
A game without challenge is boring. Therefore, the "Radiation Runner" is based on the wireless technology. Location based Wi-Fi networks are protective shields which protect the player against an unknown radiation. For this purpose, current networks can be selected when creating a track and thereby continuously give information about their current strength. The number of these networks has no limits. Thus, the creator has the ability to determine the difficulty itself. Few wireless networks make it difficult to find NFC tags because of the risk losing important life points. The other way round it is easier to find NFC tag with a large number of networks.
“Bluetooth”
Nothing is more fun than to share self-created tracks with other players. With Bluetooth, a technology for wireless data exchange, players can easily share their tracks.
“OpenGL ES (Open Graphics Library for Embedded Systems)”
A boring text field as an indicator of the life points? Not with the "Radiation Runner"! With the use of OpenGL ES, the life points are visualized with a dynamic health bar. Changes fluently switch between the colors green and red. The less life points a player has, the redder the remaining life bar is.
