About AUTHADA
With AUTHADA you can identify yourself online, from home and in the shortest possible time, because your smartphone becomes a reader for the German electronic identity card. For a successful identification you need:
1) A German identity card or residence permit in credit card format with the online identification function activated
2) The corresponding six-digit PIN
3) An NFC-enabled smartphone / tablet
4) The installed AUTHADA app
The activated electronic identity card or residence permit with associated PIN
In order to identify yourself with the AUTHADA-App you need the PIN letter, which you have received by mail after applying for the new ID card. The letter contains:
- The five-digit transport PIN: If you have not already done so, you must first change the transport PIN to a six-digit personal PIN using our app.
- The PUK: If you enter your PIN incorrectly three times, you must enter the PUK to unlock the card again
- The lock password: Lost or stolen badges can be immediately locked using the lock password
To ensure that your identity card has the eID function, it must have been issued after 2011 and you must have agreed to its activation when applying for it at the Citizens' Office. If the ID card was applied after July 2017, the eID function is automatically activated for your ID card.
The NFC-enabled smartphone / tablet
Many Android devices can read the electronic identity card. You can find out if your device is compatible on our device whitelist on our website.
