Background:
Have you ever looked down in your shopping cart/basket when you go to check out, and get the feeling that despite that fact that the store contains tens of thousands of different items, you always end up buying the same handful of foods?
I had this overwhelming realization at my grocery store down the street recently, and I decided something needed to change... but how?
"If only some random person would tell me I had to buy some random stuff?" I think was my exact thought.
I went home that night and wrote this little app to help me mix up my routine!
Description:
Aimless Cuisine is super simple. You tell the app how much you want to spend total on groceries, than it tells you specifically which sections of which isles in the grocery store you are allowed to spend that money.
It's just an app after all, so you don't have to listen to it if you don't want to buy hamburger helper, but I've found that it is has forced me to be much more creative with my cooking, and it has also introduced me to some tasty food that I seriously would not have tried on my own otherwise.
This app is configured for the layout of the King Soopers in my neighborhood in Denver currently. It will work for the most part for any grocery store (just try the isle over it tells you to buy food in the Hallmark or Pet Food isles ;) ), but please reach out to me right away if you find yourself using the app at all. I will gladly add your store's configuration to the app, and if it starts getting a few downloads, I'll put a configuration tool that will let any user create and store their local grocery layout.
