The Hive tab presents a full-screen honeycomb grid where each filled shift appears as a glowing amber hexagon bearing a volunteer’s name and role, while open slots wait as pale outlines ready to be claimed. Two handcrafted honey-jar counters at the top instantly show how many shifts are scheduled today and across the entire current week, giving you at-a-glance awareness without any digging. When you need to assign a new shift, the Add tab offers a straightforward form to capture the volunteer’s name, role, date, and time slot, and a single tap on the golden bee-stamp button saves the entry and returns you to the hive. Every shift you create is stored privately on your phone, with no account, no internet, and no cloud dependency required. The Shifts tab lists all recorded shifts in reverse chronological order, so you can scroll through upcoming and past assignments; a tap opens an editor to adjust details, and a swipe-left gesture offers an immediate delete option. The Search tab lets you filter the entire roster by typing a volunteer’s name, instantly surfacing matching shifts with their role, date, and time. A subtle dashboard area below the counters provides a handy summary of the three most recently filled shifts and a prominent “Fill a Shift” button that jumps straight to the Add form. The app’s tactile visual language—wooden borders, hand-burnt navigation hexagons, and tiny gold-foil bee stickers that mark completed cells—makes scheduling feel less like data entry and more like caring for a shared hive.
