Chalker turns volunteer coordination into something as simple and familiar as writing on a community chalkboard. The whole app lives on a dark slate surface scattered with chalk dust, where every label, number, and button is drawn by hand with slightly uneven strokes. The Board tab greets you with two oversized chalk counters: Helpers Today and Open Tasks, so you instantly know how many volunteers are on deck and which roles still need people. Just beneath the counters, the three newest sign‑ups appear as tiny torn paper slips pinned with a white dot of chalk, keeping the most recent activity right in view. When you tap the yellow chalk stick at the bottom, the Roster opens a full scrollable list of every volunteer, arranged by date with a small chalk star glowing next to anyone signed up for today. Tapping any entry lets you edit their details or remove them from the list entirely, making adjustments quick and fuss‑free. To add a new helper, tap the white chalk stick to open the Log, where a clean form captures their name, task, date, and any extra notes you want to remember. Submit that form and the entry is saved immediately to your device, then you are returned straight to the Roster to confirm everything looks right. The teal chalk stick reveals a search field that filters the entire roster by name or task while you type, showing results in the same charming slip style, and if nothing matches, a faint chalk question mark lets you know the slate is clean. Because there are no checkmarks anywhere, only chalk stars, faint smudges, and erased marks, the interface feels encouraging and never cluttered. All your volunteer records stay stored locally on your phone, so the app works completely offline and never asks for an account or internet connection.
