Currently, Digital SPA is only available to adolescents participating in the Digital SPA project clinical trial.

Digital SPA is a support application for adolescents with chronic pain. Its goal is to help them better understand their pain, develop coping skills, and improve their well-being and daily functioning.

What does Digital SPA offer?
Digital SPA offers a digital support environment for adolescents with chronic pain that integrates tracking tools, content and resources for self-care, spaces for participation, personalization options, and support features connected to the care network within the study framework. Its design aims to facilitate a useful, motivating experience tailored to each individual's needs.

Scientific Basis
Digital SPA is based on the available scientific evidence on the psychological treatment of pediatric chronic pain and current approaches to digital health. The intervention has been developed from an interdisciplinary and user-centered perspective, through a co-design process with adolescents, families, and healthcare professionals.

The app is part of the Digital SPA research project, led by the University of Málaga, and is currently undergoing scientific evaluation in Spain through a multicenter trial.

About Us
Digital SPA was created by a multidisciplinary team with expertise in pediatric pain, clinical and health psychology, digital health, implementation, pediatrics, physiotherapy, computer engineering, and design. The project is led by Dr. Rocío de la Vega, a researcher at the University of Málaga specializing in digital interventions for adolescents with chronic pain.

Digital SPA does not replace assessment, diagnosis, or follow-up by healthcare professionals. It is a support tool within the comprehensive approach to chronic pain in adolescents.
