About StormArc
StormArc is an offline numerical sketch of thunderstorm electrification.
Adjust three drivers—cloud-top height, in-cloud temperature, and updraft speed—and watch a simplified non-inductive (ice–graupel) tripole respond in real time:
• Vertical charge layers (red positive, blue negative; bar width shows relative density)
• Schematic cloud-to-ground (CG) and in-cloud (IC) flash paths
• Electric-field strength versus height, from a fair-weather baseline into storm-scale peaks
• Flash rate that rises as cloud tops deepen
