Vbet takes the oldest game there is and inverts it. Both players place the same mark - X - and three in a row is not a win, it is a death sentence for that board. Complete a line and the board goes dark, struck through in chalk red, out of play for good. Keep placing marks across whichever boards are still live. The player forced to complete the very last line - the one that empties the final live board - loses outright. There is no draw.
Early rounds run on a single 3x3 board, an unforgiving puzzle in six safe marks or fewer.
