About Weave Chat AAC

Weave Chat allows users to easily ‘chat’ using their individual devices (e.g. application on iPad, tablet, cellphone) while their communication partner is out of their immediate environment or while sitting next to their communication partner. Weave Chat is a category-based system with a dynamic display and synthetic voice output.
Weave Chat Messenger has several key features including:

- Free, in-application texting using picture symbols and traditional word "text."

- Text your friends and family individually or in a group chat.

- Receive picture-symbol recommendations while texting to make communication quicker.

- Use the robust vocabulary including pronouns, verbs (in present, future, and past tense), adjectives and descriptors, a variety of categorized nouns, and conversational picture symbol words to communicate.

- The ability to switch between devices (iPhone, iPad) without loosing your specific picture symbol keyboard configuration.

- Speech synthesis (text-to-speech) in all screens.

- Synthetic voice options (ability to select the voice, rate of speech, and vocal pitch that you want).

- Two keyboard builder configuration methods (1) hide images you don't want visible; 2) add only the images you want to a blank board).

- The ability to add your own custom picture symbols/words and determine the category they should nest under.

- The ability to search for a word using "word finder" and locate the word via a red highlighted path.

- In application support via text message using words or pictures.

- Designed using the principles of the Modified Fitzgerald Key and current research on augmentative and alternative communication devices.

- Offline mode for active users, so that you can continue to use the symbol board without a connection to the internet and maintain your voice preferences.
