A simple, yet powerful language learning tool for people who want to increase their foreign language vocabulary and comprehension.

These are not your traditional flashcards - Vocaber is specifically designed for optimized language learning. You read whole sentences, but select only the words that you don't know; this way our smart Spaced Repetition algorithms provide you with flashcards that benefit you the most.

It is intended for people who are already learning a language or want to learn a related language (e.g. Spanish -> Portuguese). Please seek more beginner-friendly resources if you want to learn the language from zero.

Vocaber is inspired by concepts of immersion, input-based learning, comprehensible input and Krashen's theories of language acquisition. The content follows the N+1 approach, going from the most common to the least common words.

Our dynamic sentences system reduces rote repetition. For each word the sentences are picked from a range of options, instead of always being the same sentence. You will encounter the words in different forms and contexts, rather than having to memorize the same card over and over.

A huge number of words and sentences - most languages have 20,000 words and 250,000+ sentences, allowing you to increase your vocabulary from the beginner level to advanced.

Vocaber cares about your time and your nerves. Language learning is a long and sometimes frustrating process. We try to reduce your anxiety and stress as much as possible. You don't have to worry about managing decks and reviews, there is no "failing". You just study as much or as little as you want, and get better with time.

The sentences are realistic - you will see idiosyncrasies and grammatical irregularities of the real world. Note: this includes swearing.

All the sentences are voiced to help your auditory training. For most languages there is a variety of voices from multiple speakers and regions.

You can practice listening using Audio Mode, which turns every flashcard into an audio flashcard - the sentences are hidden until translated.

The UI is simple and easy to use, with no ads or distractions. No flashing lights and funny sounds, you can focus on learning.
