The rosary also includes the contemplation of certain passages of the life of Jesus and his mother Mary, which according to the Catholic Church's doctrine are of special relevance to the history of salvation and are called "mysteries."
St. Faustina Kowalska was born in 1905 in Glogowiec (Poland). He belonged to the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, where he lived for thirteen years. He also worked in various houses of the Congregation and spent long periods in Krakow, Plock and Vilnius serving as a cook, gardener and porter. His spirituality is based on the mystery of Divine Mercy, meditating on the Word of God and looked at everyday life. The knowledge and contemplation of this mystery developed an attitude of childlike trust to God and love of neighbor. St. Faustina received the confidences of Jesus, who appointed him his secretary and apostle of mercy through her, to show the world his great message.
