Start with what’s going on in your head and try to highlight those ideas and emotions. From there, you write down anything that makes sense to you and then come up with a list of what to put in your blog post.


4. Read what you have written before publishing it

It might seem like common sense, but it’s important to read what you write before you publish it. Even if you or someone else has already read it, take a few minutes to re-read it before publishing it. It’s easy to make mistakes or misspell words when you’re typing quickly. The mistake I usually make is to capitalize certain letters or neglect to uppercase or lowercase the first letter of a few words.

If you’re a writer, then you probably already know that you need to know the rules of grammar in order to write properly, but you also need to know when to bend the rules and break them. Spend some time learning grammar rules, then spend time understanding when you can and can’t break them. Identify how often is it good to use a preposition and how often is it better not to. Research punctuation as well. While for some reason you might have to write ‘there's instead of ‘there's, it’s much better for the reader to have to consciously guess whether ‘there’ or ‘there's is going to be the subject.
