Comprehensive Travel Information Gateway for Bangladesh Railway designed, developed, managed and operated by SUNCROPS Ltd. in accordance with an agreement signed between these two in May, 2013.

“BR Explorer” (including Train Tracking through SMS via port 16318) is a byproduct of Train Tracking and Monitoring System to assist Bangladesh Railway(BR) operating it’s Train Fleet, which helps to visualize, guide and manage it’s entire fleet in “real time” from four Traffic Control Offices (Dhaka, Chittagong, Paksey and Lalmonirhat).

As of inherent nature, the software is a GIS based Application having vector map of BR assets only, independent of Google or any such Third Party Map, having it’s own “intranet network” (not internet), encompassing all Locomotives (appx. 250) fitted with specially designed GPS Tracking Transceivers, having it’s own dedicated Central Server (and four Slave Servers at four Traffic Control Offices connected via BR Optical Link).

As this kind of Software is not predesigned which can be bought off the shelf, which had to be developed from scratch, BR invited an open tender in 2013 on conditions that the bidder would design, develop, operate and manage the system on its own (the bidder) cost and recover the expenses from commercial use of byproduct, that is the Train Tracking Information to general users. Eventually SUNCROPS Ltd. won the project, and since December 2013, proudly and passionately running the system with its own intelligence and finance. The system is being monitored and managed 24x7 by a contingent of 20 SUNCROPS Engineers.
