WE DON'T KEEP YOUR MESSAGES
Text messages are deleted from our servers two minutes after all recipients have read them. Photos, videos, and documents are removed seven days after being read. Unread messages are stored for up to thirty days, then deleted. Cloud backup is optional — if you enable it, a copy of your chats remains on our servers until you delete it. If you don't enable it, your messages exist only on your devices.
