Scrollstice helps you interrupt mindless scrolling in the moment, before a few minutes quietly turn into far more time than you meant to spend.

This is not another app blocker. Scrollstice is designed to break autopilot scrolling with a timely pause, so you can make a conscious decision about what happens next.

WHO IT IS FOR

Scrollstice is for people who want more awareness and more intention in how they use social media and other distracting apps.

HOW IT WORKS

When a selected distracting app stays active long enough, Scrollstice steps in with an intervention screen. At that point, you can choose to:
• stop now
• remind yourself again later
• continue deliberately

The goal is not to punish you or lock you out. The goal is to create awareness at the exact moment awareness usually disappears.

PRIVACY AND DATA HANDLING

Scrollstice is designed to operate locally on your device.
It does not use analytics SDKs, ad SDKs, remote tracking libraries, or external servers to monitor your app activity.

Scrollstice does not read messages, typed text, passwords, photos, or the content inside other apps.

The app may process limited device-level activity information locally so it can:
• detect when a selected app is active
• measure dwell time
• trigger interventions
• maintain reliability if Android interrupts monitoring

The only time information may leave your device is if you manually choose to share a debug log for support.

PERMISSIONS

To work as intended, Scrollstice may ask for:
• Accessibility Service, to detect which selected app is currently in the foreground
• Usage Access, as a fallback and verification method for app activity timing
• Display Over Other Apps, so the intervention screen can appear when needed
• Notifications, for reliability and intervention-related alerts
• Battery optimization changes, so Android does not stop monitoring in the background

Scrollstice uses Accessibility Service only for foreground app detection. It does not use Accessibility to read messages, typed text, passwords, or private screen content.

Scrollstice is a self-help and habit-awareness tool. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical or psychological condition.
