About Satellite-based snow radar

The app uses real-time satellite data to provide daily information on snow cover across Europe.

- Do you want to ski but don't trust the information provided by ski resorts?

- Travelling and want to know if there is snow on the road?

- Are you planning a trip to the mountains and want to know if you will find snow?

The application shows the real snow coverage (from 0% to 100%) of the selected area, with the latest data captured by satellites. If there is no information for the current day (e.g. due to clouds), you get the information from previous days. After pressing the button identified with a “snowflake”, the snow cover is displayed on the map. Areas that are completely covered with snow are shown in dark blue. Areas with less than 100% snow cover are gradually shown in lighter blue/grey. Areas with no data are shown in red.
