Every figure comes from published planetary data: densities, escape
velocities, rotation and orbital periods, surface temperatures and pressures.
The surprises are real ones.
• Deimos needs 5.6 m/s to escape. A strong human jump reaches about 4.5.
A running leap is the difference between staying and leaving forever.
• A day on Venus lasts longer than its year.
• Phobos already orbits inside its own break-up limit. Mars is going to
have a ring.
