About IME Nepal Literature Festival

Nepal Literature Festival (NLF) app features the schedules, speakers list and event feeds for the IME Nepal Literature festival (NLF).

The only international literary festival in the country to run for eight consecutive editions, the IME Nepal Literature Festival is a playground for authors, thinkers and literature connoisseurs. It was conceived as a forum for fostering pluralities of thoughts and ideas, tolerance, inclusiveness and literature. True to its founding ethos, it has over the years given space to diverse—often competing—ideas and unheard of voices.

From its humble beginnings in 2011, the Festival has grown in stature and has brought together hundreds of national and international authors, activists, artists, intellectuals, economists and leaders to converse on issues both literary and non-literary. As the festival has grown, the discussions it gives birth to are becoming more diverse, inclusive and relatable. From intellectuals discussing the national economy and political figures being held answerable on the stage to poets serenading the crowds and writers connecting with their readers, the festival has become a platform for civic engagement, idea sharing and connecting.

We hope to develop the Festival into a neutral South Asian venue where writers, artists, thinkers and leaders from the region can come together to discuss varied issues pertinent to the times.
