Welcome to Kayros

Kayros is a physical metal card linked to an app, designed to help you regain control of your time.

By tapping the card against your phone, you block the chosen apps.

The only way to unlock them is by tapping the card again.

This creates a physical barrier between you and distractions.

From that moment on, the app tracks everything: your focus time, your progress, the ability to schedule focus blocks, and the clarity of understanding where your attention is going.

And it doesn't stop there. You can compare your performance with friends and track the global ranking.

Because, in the end, it's not about using your phone less.

It's about regaining the choice of how you use your time.

Use of the Accessibility API (AccessibilityService)

Kayros uses the Android Accessibility API exclusively to enable the app's main functionality: blocking apps selected by the user during a focus session.

How it works:
• The accessibility service detects when an app previously blocked by the user is opened.

• Upon detecting the opening, Kayros displays the lock screen, preventing the app from being used until the focus session is ended with the physical card.

• Activating accessibility permission is done manually by the user in the system settings, after explicit consent and a disclosure screen within the app.

Kayros does NOT use the Accessibility API to:
• Collect, record, transmit, or share screen content, typed text, credentials, or any personal data.

• Record call audio.

• Change device settings without user permission.

• Prevent app uninstallation or bypass Android privacy controls.

The user can disable accessibility permission at any time in Settings > Accessibility > Kayros, or uninstall the app normally.

Using VPN (VpnService)

Kayros uses the Android VpnService API to offer website blocking during focus sessions. This VPN is local and runs entirely on your device: it acts as a filter that only blocks access to websites you've added to your block list while a focus mode is active.

Kayros does not route, collect, inspect, store, or share your internet traffic. No browsing data is sent to Kayros or third-party servers.
