About Concoction
Concoction is your private, offline kitchen lab notebook for documenting every wild culinary experiment with complete honesty. The app feels like a stained spiral-bound journal where you can freely record your dish trials, track surprising victories, and learn from spectacular flops. On the Lab Counter dashboard, you are greeted by large hand-scribbled numbers on a torn sticky note showing your total brews, wins, and flops, complete with a coffee-mug ring. A quick-action button lets you jump straight to the Brew tab and name a new experiment, set the attempt date, pick an outcome, and jot down messy notes about taste and texture. Every saved experiment is stored locally on your device and instantly appears in your Logbook, which offers a searchable list of all your culinary mischief. Each Logbook entry displays the dish name alongside a tiny hand-drawn beaker icon filled with green liquid for Success, yellow for Needs Work, or red for Fail, with a coffee-ring stain marking the date. Tapping any entry opens the same simple form so you can update your observations, change the outcome, or delete the record as your recipe evolves. The Flops tab gathers every failed experiment into one honest corner, showing each flop with a tiny tombstone icon and a retry badge that encourages you to give it another go. There are absolutely no checkmarks or ticks anywhere, only expressive beaker icons and ink-scribbled details that match the messy spirit of real kitchen creativity. Because all data remains in local storage, your experimental notes, surprising ingredient combinations, and half-baked ideas never leave your phone and require no account or internet connection. Concoction is built for adventurous home cooks, food bloggers testing recipe adaptations, and culinary tinkerers who need a practical, judgment-free place to remember what worked and what still needs a pinch of tweaking.
