Tai Chi is an ancient practice originating in China. It is now practiced world wide and often thought of as a blend between yoga and meditation. Many of the movements are said to come from martial arts and may even date back further include the innate movements of animals. The essence of Tai Chi is slow, gentle and graceful movements with fluid transitions between them.
The word "Chi" comes from the Chinese philosophy and medicine. The concept is "a life force that animates the body". "Chi" is closely related to similar patterns in the nervous and vascular system and the idea is closely related to the practice of acupuncture and additional oriental healing arts.
