About Compteur Soutiens aux Paysans
The "Farmer Support Counter" application reliably counts the number of French farmers receiving support nationwide, broken down by region, department, and municipality.
Upon registration, the application generates a unique random identifier (UUID). Even if the application is uninstalled and reinstalled, it retains this UUID, preventing multiple registrations with the same device.
GPS location data (longitude and latitude) is transmitted along with this UUID to a server that records the registration (source code available).
To locate the municipality, the application uses OpenStreetMap data.
The data stored by the server (UUID and GPS location) is completely anonymous. You can choose not to share your GPS location, in which case the server records the support as "Location Unknown."
The application is distributed under the GPLv3 license, and the source code is available on GitHub. You are invited to contribute to the project!
