Somali 1 is for you if you’re a complete beginner in Somali, but it can be used as a refresher course for intermediates. Take Somali 1 to quickly learn the basics of the Somali language so that you’ll be able to read and understand simple words, and short sentences.

Somali 2 is for you if you already have some knowledge of Somali, but it’s also perfect for beginners who’ve completed Somali 1 and want to progress even further. Somali 2 will help you learn additional Somali words, and improve your reading speed and comprehension with lots of reading practice.
SOMALI 1

The Somali 1 course includes the following fundamental topics as modules:

The alphabet (both lowercase and uppercase)
Letter sounds
Letter combinations
Numbers
Simple words
Short sentences

Somali 1 includes built-in audio tuition - very useful when you first start learning Somali!

At each step Daariz will automatically analyze your progress so that you’ll get more practice on areas that you need to develop.

When you’ve completed all the lessons in each module and you’ve made progress, you’ll have the opportunity to test your knowledge and understanding (and win a virtual camel!). Tests are important because they show whether you’re ready to proceed to the next topic.

SOMALI 2

Somali 2 is packed full of practice texts which are short passages carefully designed to improve your reading speed, vocabulary, and spelling. Each passage includes:

An opportunity to practice writing some of the words from the passage.
An opportunity to practice sight reading some of the words from the passage.
A test to measure your words-per-minute reading speed.
A test to measure your reading comprehension.

But that’s not all!

With Somali 2 you’ll also get access to a library of incredible short stories, which means you’ll have a lot of fun improving your reading speed. Each story you work through gives you immediate feedback with a personal reading speed and comprehension score.
