A Challenging But Fair Test of Your Golf Game.
Crystal Woods Golf Club was originally designed by Bill Langford in the early 1950s. The 9-hole, par 37 course was then known as Bit O’ Heather G.C. until 1967. In 1967, architect Charles Wagstaff blended the old with the new as the redesigned course became a par 72 with 18 holes.
Course owners Richard and Mary Ann Craig directed this expansion as Crystal Woods became the first course of its kind, semi-private/daily fee course in McHenry County. The course opened for play in the summer of 1969.
