AGATA (GAmification App for Raising Awareness and Disclosure of Environmental Issues) is the official app of the project, funded by the PNRR – Next Generation EU, to promote environmental sustainability through innovative digital technologies.

Developed for the Royal Botanical Garden of Naples, AGATA transforms visits into an interactive, educational, and engaging experience. Strolling through the botanical collections, visitors are guided along a digital path that combines augmented reality, geolocation, and immersive content. The app offers challenges, quizzes, and scientific and historical trivia that stimulate observation and learning, making the discovery of our natural heritage an active and fun experience.

Designed for a broad and diverse audience, AGATA aims to raise awareness of sustainability, climate change, the circular economy, reuse, and conscious consumption. Each stage of the journey invites reflection on humanity's role in protecting the environment, fostering a more conscious relationship with nature.

The Royal Botanical Garden of Naples, chosen as the project's pilot site, is one of Europe's most important scientific gardens. Founded in 1807, it extends over approximately 12 hectares and is home to thousands of plant species from around the world. Thanks to AGATA, this extraordinary heritage opens up to a new digital dimension, accessible and multilingual, capable of engaging residents, families, tourists, and students.

AGATA is much more than a guide: it is an educational tool designed to engage the public in a cultural, scientific, and environmental experience. Through play, we discover, and through discovery, we learn to respect the world around us.
