About Sudoku
The popular Japanese puzzle game Sudoku is based on a logical arrangement of numbers. Sudoku is an online logic game that does not require calculations or special mathematical skills. All you need is your brain and the ability to focus.
How to play Sudoku
The goal of Sudoku is to fill a 9x9 grid with numbers so that each column, row, and 3x3 grid has numbers from 1 to 9. At the beginning of the game, some cells of the 9x9 grid will be filled. Your task is to fill in the missing numbers and fill in the entire grid using logic. Remember, the move will be invalid if:
- Any string contains duplicate numbers from 1 to 9;
- Any column contains duplicate numbers from 1 to 9;
- Any 3×3 grid contains duplicate numbers from 1 to 9;
Strategies
There are several basic methods that will allow you to start playing Sudoku for free right now. Sudoku puzzle can be solved by following the following strategies.
Cross capture
Focus on each 3x3 sector at a time. Compare the missing numbers with the numbers in the rows and columns of the grid that are outside the sector in question. If they contain any of the missing numbers, then you can conclude that there are no these numbers in the empty cells of the row or column of the sector.
Count
See what numbers are already in each 1x9 row to determine the missing numbers in the empty cells. Do the same for each 1x9 column. Now combine the results in rows and columns to increase the probability or correctly determine which number is located in the cell in question.
The certainty of the uncertain
If the location of the number on the field is not defined, it is sometimes safe to say that it will be located without a doubt in a certain row or column. Note this location and use it to exclude the location of this number in other squares of some column or row.
X-Wing Method
This strategy is usually used in the most difficult Sudoku levels. The goal is to eliminate the presence of a particular number in the cell, using "pencil" notes. You can use it when you have the same candidate in four (4) cells that form a square or rectangle when connected by a row and a column. If you connect each of the ends of the square, you will find that one of these pairs will be correct at the end. If you check any of these probabilities, you can exclude the analyzed figure from other "pencil" notes in different cells.
Swordfish Method
To apply this method, you must have 2 identical candidate digits on the same row, on three different rows. These candidates must also be joined by a column, regardless of the form they create.
When you connect different options, you should have a closed chain. In the end, you will only have two sets of possible answers. You can then test these sets and exclude the digit you are working with from any cell that becomes impossible with these two options.
The Medusa Method
Medusa is an upgraded combination of the Swordfish and X-wing methods. In this case, you should have the same candidate in four columns and four different rows. Connect these cells to discover the sets of units that may arise from different variations. Candidates that become impossible when testing any of the sets may be excluded.
