How to play rummy:
Objective: The goal of the game is to successfully group 2 sequences (out of which at least one should be a pure sequence) and the remaining cards into sequences and/or sets.
Sequence: Three or more cards of the same suit in a numerical order of ascendance with or without one or more jokers is called sequence. A player has to meld at least one pure sequence (sequence without a joker) to make a valid declaration.
Set: Three or more cards of different suits but the same rank, with or without a joker is called a set.
Printed Joker & Wild Joker: A predefined card which has an image of a joker which can be used to make sets & sequences is the printed joker. A card randomly picked from the closed deck which can be used to make sets & sequences plays the role of wild joker in a rummy game.
Points Structure: Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks of all suits carry 10 points each. 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 carry points equivalent to their rank.
First drop: When a player decides to leave a game before picking a single card it is called the first drop. They lose 10 points.
Middle drop: When a player decides to leave during a game, after picking one or more cards is called the middle drop. They lose 30 points.
Declaration: The act of announcing that a player has successfully made valid sets & sequences.
Points Rummy: It is a 13-card rummy variant played for points, where the player who makes a valid declaration wins the game. A valid declaration is done only when a player melds valid sequences and sets.
Deal Rummy: It is another variant of 13-card rummy, which is played between 2 to 6 players. In this variant, players play with chips which are distributed at the beginning of the deal. The number of deals are pre-decided in this game. The player with maximum chips at the end wins.
Currently, CardBaazi Online offers Best of 2 and Best of 3 Deal Rummy formats. The rest of the gameplay remains the same.
Pool Rummy: In Pool Rummy variation, the players pool in their money to play. It is a fast paced variant of 13-card rummy. In this variant the last remaining player wins the game once the rest of the players are eliminated after reaching 51/101/201 Points, depending on the variant. The rest of the gameplay remains similar to Points Rummy.
