About The Art of War, Sun Tzu

The Art of War is a military treatise written during the fourth century BC by the strategist known as Sun Tzu. The treaty consists of thirteen chapters, each addressing one aspect of war strategy, to provide an overview of all events and strategies that must be addressed in rational combat. The book is believed to have been used by various military strategists throughout history such as Napoleon, Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, Takeda Shingen, Vo Nguyen Giap, and Mao Tse Tung.

In The Art of War, Sun Tzu, with his judgmental character, forges the figure of a general whose qualities are secrecy, concealment and surprise.

Today, The Art of War seems destined to support another war: that of business. Thus the book migrated from the shelves of strategists to those of the economist and manager. Although war tactics have changed since Sun Tzu's time, this treaty would have influenced, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, certain modern strategists.
