Appa Health — mentorship that meets you where you are

Every student deserves someone in their corner. Appa Health pairs students with trained mentors for weekly, one-on-one conversations built around trust, listening, and small next steps. Available through partner schools, our program helps students navigate friendships, family, school pressure, identity, and everything in between.

How it works

Get matched. Answer a few questions about who you are and what's going on. We pair you with a mentor who fits how you think, work, and connect.
Chat in the app. Message your mentor throughout the week. Share what's on your mind — big or small — and get thoughtful responses from someone who's actually listening.
Weekly check-ins. Book a longer conversation when you want to talk something through in real time.
Set gentle goals. Not homework. Small, meaningful next steps you and your mentor decide together.
Who mentors are

Appa mentors are trained, background-checked, and supervised by a professional care team. They're not therapists — they're the kind of grown-up you wish you'd had in middle or high school. Someone who gets it, who won't judge, and who'll be there next week too.

Built with safety at the core

Every conversation is supported by a care team that reviews flagged content and coordinates support when needed.
In-app crisis resources are always one tap away in Settings, connecting you to 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), Crisis Text Line, and emergency services.
Students and caregivers can request account deletion at any time, in-app or on the web.
All data is encrypted in transit; personal information is only shared with the professionals directly involved in your care.
For schools and districts

Appa Health partners with schools, districts, and community organizations to bring mentorship to the students who need it most. If your school isn't yet on Appa, ask your counselor or administrator, or reach out to us directly.

For parents and caregivers

You're part of your student's journey. Appa keeps you informed about program participation while protecting the trust your student needs to build with their mentor. Learn more at appahealth.com.

For educators and school counselors

Appa gives your students consistent, high-quality support that complements the work you're already doing. Mentors coordinate with your school's counseling team when appropriate, and never in place of professional care.
