Women entrepreneurs are the backbone of any country. In India, statistics show that women entrepreneurs joining the workforce would increase the GDP by 18%. My motivation behind creating Aparajita was to support these women and help fulfil their dreams of owning a business. With the pandemic hitting us hard, this past year has been incredibly hard for most people around the world; especially women in rural India who tried sustaining or starting their own business. One thing I have learnt this year is that money is a cushion from reality; it truly creates a difference in times like this. I know how hard it is to be a woman. But to be a woman in rural India with struggles of supporting their family and business, it is difficult beyond imagination. I wish to enable, support and elevate such women giving them a platform to learn about managing their business. We are even using the Harvard Business School business curriculum, the Stanford Business course, mentorship as well as giving them access to cheaper loans.
