About Ayatul Kursi_আয়তুল কুরসি

Ayatul Kursi, also known as the Throne Verse, is a highly revered verse from the Quran, specifically Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter 2), Verse 255. It holds significant importance in Islamic tradition and is considered one of the most powerful and comprehensive verses in the Quran.

Here is the full description and meaning of Ayatul Kursi.

"Allahu la ilaha illa Huwa, Al-Hayyul-Qayyum,
La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm,
Lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-'ardh,
Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi,
Ya'lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma khalfahum,
Wa la yuhituna bi shai'im-min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a,
Wasi'a kursiyuhus-samawati wal ardha,
Wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma,
Wa Huwal 'Aliyyul-Adheem."

Translation:
"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is before them and what will be after them,
and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth,
and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Highest, the Greatest."

Meaning:
This verse begins by emphasizing the oneness and uniqueness of Allah, the only God worthy of worship. It states that Allah is the Ever-Living and the Sustainer of all existence, implying His eternal and self-sufficient nature. Unlike human beings, Allah does not experience drowsiness or sleep, demonstrating His constant vigilance and care over His creation.

The verse then highlights Allah's sovereignty over everything in the heavens and the earth, indicating His complete ownership and control. It emphasizes that no one can intercede with Allah except with His permission, highlighting His absolute authority and knowledge. Allah has full awareness of what has happened in the past, what is happening in the present, and what will happen in the future. His knowledge encompasses everything, and nothing escapes His awareness except what He wills to keep hidden.

The verse concludes by describing the immense expanse of Allah's throne (Kursi), which symbolizes His supreme authority and dominion. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, indicating His encompassing power. Furthermore, it emphasizes that the preservation and maintenance of the universe do not burden or fatigue Him in any way. He is the Highest and the Greatest, transcending all in His majesty and might.

Ayatul Kursi is regarded as a source of great blessings and protection in Islamic belief. Many Muslims recite it regularly for its spiritual benefits, seeking Allah's guidance, mercy, and safeguarding from evil. It is considered a potent supplication and is recited on various occasions, including during prayer, before sleeping, and in times of distress, seeking comfort and reassurance in Allah's infinite power and knowledge.
