About AP U.S. History Exam Prep 2023

The AP® US History course is more demanding by nature than a standard US History course. The AP® courses are designed to teach college-level topic at an introductory level, and the AP® exams assess your comprehension of college-level content. The AP® US History exam is more demanding than the majority of AP® exams in the area of AP® exams.

Every year, over 500,000 students take the AP® US History exam. Because the curriculum is readily available, it is likely that some students who take AP® US History lack the academic experience required to perform well or do not sufficiently prepare for the exam. This helps to explain why the APUSH exam pass rate is often lower than the average pass rate of all AP® exams.
